FOOD PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTION COMPANY

Financial and operational turnaround of a $55 million privately-owned fruit processor and food distribution company. In the interim roles of COO and Engineering Manager, and partnering with a financial turnaround firm, AMG developed and implemented a full operational turnaround plan for each side of the business: for the fruit processor, AMG professionals developed a new set of operational practices to enable the client to respond more quickly to customer orders and grow sales; on the food distribution side, AMG completed a cost and profitability analysis which lead to a series of pricing changes and also implemented a complete new system for the fulfillment of customer orders in the warehouse coolers, reducing labor requirements by 60%.

RESULTS: On September 18, 2015, AMG was named a finalist for M&A Advisor awards in three categories: Restructuring Deal of the Year; Consumer & Retail Products Deal of the Year; Corporate & Strategic Acquisition of the Year. After significant operational and financial restructuring and reaching new levels of profitability, the company was sold to a new private investor and recapitalized in May of 2015. The new owners have continued with the aggressive restructuring initiatives and significant plans for growth.
